Phil started in the marketing business by founding a full service advertising agency at the age of 26 in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. He was recognized with a Price Waterhouse Up & Comer Award at the very start of his career and continued by building a marketing firm that attracted a broad range of retail, medical, industrial and B2B clientele.
After 17 years at the helm, Phil left his agency to devote himself entirely to the art of naming and branding. He and his family relocated to the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina where he founded Tungsten Branding in 2003. Since that time, Phil has worked as a naming expert regionally, nationally and internationally to build clear, compelling brand identities that convey a cohesive message. In between naming, branding, writing and speaking, Phil is also a fitness buff, serving as a part time kickboxing instructor. He often volunteers his time helping with local business development.
