Tungsten Branding Named a 2026 Spring Clutch Global Award Winner
by Phil Davis, Brand Naming Expert

Tungsten Branding is proud to announce that we have been named a 2026 Spring Clutch Global Award winner for Naming services, recognizing our continued commitment to helping organizations create, evolve, and reposition their brands.
Clutch, a leading global marketplace of B2B service providers, selects Global Award honorees through its proprietary Ability to Deliver methodology, which evaluates companies based on verified client feedback, industry expertise, and overall market presence.
Nearly 400 agencies were recognized across 52 categories in marketing and advertising for the Spring 2026 awards. Clutch Global Awards represent the highest level of recognition on the platform, reserved for the top 15 companies in each category worldwide.
For Tungsten Branding, the recognition reflects more than 25 years dedicated to one deceptively simple idea:
The right name changes everything.
More Than a Name. A Foundation for What Comes Next.
A company name is often one of the shortest elements of a brand—and one of the longest lasting.
The right name can clarify a company’s purpose, signal a new direction, unite previously disconnected organizations, or provide a platform for decades of growth. That’s why naming has always been about more than generating creative ideas. It requires understanding where an organization has been, where it’s going, and what kind of name can help bridge the distance between the two.
Over the past 25+ years, Tungsten Branding has helped organizations across technology, healthcare, financial services, industrial, consumer, and professional service markets navigate these pivotal moments.
Our work spans new company naming, corporate renaming and repositioning, mergers and acquisitions, brand architecture, product and service naming, and visual identity. While every engagement is different, the objective remains remarkably consistent: finding the name that best expresses the organization’s core value and creates a strong foundation for the future.
“The right name changes everything,” said Phillip Davis, Founder and President of Tungsten Branding. “For more than 25 years, we’ve helped organizations navigate some of their most important brand decisions—from naming new ventures to renaming and repositioning established companies. This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects both the expertise of our team and the trust our clients place in us.”
A Legacy of Naming Brands Built to Last
Tungsten Branding’s work includes hundreds of company, product, and service naming engagements, ranging from emerging ventures to established national and international organizations.
One of the firm’s best-known naming projects is PODS®—Portable On Demand Storage—a name that helped define an entirely new category of portable storage and moving services. Like many of the strongest company names, PODS did more than identify the business. It provided a simple, memorable way for people to understand and talk about a new concept.
That same principle continues to guide our work today.
A successful name should make a company easier to understand, easier to remember, and easier to recommend. It should create possibilities rather than limitations. And ideally, it should continue to make sense as the organization grows and evolves.
In other words, a great name isn’t simply a creative asset.
It’s infrastructure.
Recognition Built on Client Success
Clutch Global Award winners are evaluated in part through verified client feedback, making this recognition particularly meaningful to our team.
Naming engagements often occur at transformational moments in an organization’s history. A company may be launching for the first time, entering a new market, bringing multiple organizations together following a merger or acquisition, or leaving behind a name that no longer reflects who it has become.
These decisions can have implications that last for decades.
Our role is to bring clarity to that process—combining creative exploration with strategic judgment to help leadership teams move forward with confidence.
“Marketing and advertising agencies operate in one of the most competitive and fast-moving industries out there,” said Mike Beares, Clutch Founder and CEO. “The agencies recognized this spring have put client success at the center of everything they do, and that commitment is what sets them apart.”
Naming in a Changing World
The tools available to companies have changed dramatically since Tungsten Branding began more than 25 years ago. Organizations now have access to more information, more technology, and more ways to generate ideas than ever before.
But having more names isn’t necessarily the same as finding the right one.
The most consequential naming decisions still require judgment: understanding which ideas truly fit the organization, which can stand apart in a crowded marketplace, which have the flexibility to grow, and which will still feel relevant years from now.
Technology can expand the possibilities. Expertise helps determine which possibilities are worth pursuing.
At Tungsten Branding, our work has always centered on that distinction.
We help organizations discover and evaluate names not simply for how they sound today, but for what they have the potential to become tomorrow.
Thank You to Our Clients
We are grateful to the clients who have trusted Tungsten Branding with some of their most important brand decisions over the past quarter century.
Every naming engagement begins with a challenge and ends with a choice. Between those two points lies the work we love most: uncovering what makes an organization distinctive, exploring the possibilities, and helping leadership teams recognize the name that feels unmistakably their own.
Being named a 2026 Spring Clutch Global Award winner is an honor, and we’re proud to have our work recognized among leading agencies worldwide.
More importantly, we’re proud of the names we’ve helped create—and the companies, organizations, and people who have brought those names to life.
Because after more than 25 years in the naming business, we still believe what we’ve always believed:
The right name changes everything.
