The Challenge:
Bump, Set, TrademarkIt all started when two friends created a fun brand that reflected their unique story. After many years of operating as Pura Vida Volleyball, their TM Attorney suggested they change the company name. Not dismayed, this volleyball loving duo saw an opportunity to pivot and grow beyond the volleyball net and into a wider arena of sports apparel.
The "Ah-ha" Moment:
An Ace that evolves the story
Good design goes unnoticed. For this project, a small pivot led to a highly effective and simple solution. After many rounds of names and in-depth strategy discussions it was decided that PuraVida would become VidaVibe. VidaVibe was an absolute ace for many reasons; it’s alliterative, punchy, fun, shares the “v” of volleyball, and captures the vibey lifestyle of playing sports with a team of friends. Our favorite outcome? By keeping the word “vida” in the name, two friends were able to preserve the legacy story that they love while evolving their brand going forward.
