PCNet began by connecting computers through 10BASE-T Ethernet lines. As the business evolved, its capabilities reached well beyond its original name, encompassing the managed IT services companies depend on to keep their operations running.
The company needed a name for its managed services division that could express this broader role and accommodate future capabilities. Its existing web address, pcnet-inc.com, also presented an opportunity for improvement: a distinctive name paired with an exact-match .com would make the brand easier to communicate and remember.
Tungsten created Corserva to evoke “core services”—the essential technology support at the heart of a business. The name also draws on the familiar language of IT: service, serve, and servers. These associations give it a natural sense of belonging in the technology category while leaving room for the offering to evolve. Corserva shifted the emphasis from the equipment being connected to the ongoing value being delivered. It expressed a company’s role in managing the technology its clients rely on every day.
The name came with Corserva.com, an exact-match domain that replaced the hyphen and corporate suffix of pcnet-inc.com with a clear, unified brand address. The company’s name and online identity could now work together, making referrals, introductions, and recall more straightforward.
Continued Success: From a division name to a company-wide identity.
Corserva launched in 2013 as PCNet’s managed IT services division. In 2015, PCNet expanded its national capabilities with the purchase of a 70,000-square-foot technology facility in Orlando, Florida. [1]
On January 1, 2017, the company officially became Corserva, bringing all its products and services under the name originally created for the division. [1]
Today, Corserva serves enterprise and mid-market clients across the United States from technical services centers in Trumbull, Connecticut, and Orlando, Florida. Its capabilities span managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, consulting, and software development. [1]
A name developed to express an essential part of the business proved broad enough to represent the whole.
