The Challenge:
Naming a high end beverage company

Naming a new company/product in the beverage space can be daunting. With thousands of labels on the market, creating a unique and compelling brand name for a non alcoholic artisanal beverage meant we had to soak up all the info we could and produce a name that would roll off the tongue, a brand name to be savored.

The Solution:
Go with the Flow

Capturing the essence of this new product line required us to distill the brand down to its purest essence. At its core, these specially curated and crafted libations were as delicious in taste and they were beautiful in appearance. After exploring a wide assortment of names and naming strategies, we hit upon the invented name Delmosa, a combination of the suffix "Del" of delicious and "mosa" from the Spanish word hermosa (beautiful.)

Together, these descriptive and evocative word morphemes combined to create a name that is both warm and inviting. The familiar sounds of "del" and "mosa" made for a natural pairing that was easy to assimilate.

Not all invented names are created equal. By combining intuitive and complimentary prefixes and suffixes, it's possible to form a brand new word that retains the integrity and characters of its components.

clients reviews

"By the time I first contacted Phil Davis of Tungsten Branding, I had spent several frustrating months trying to come up with a name on my own. Yet, after a consultation Phil surprised me by saying that I wasn't ready for his services. He told me to go back to work and further clarify the mission and identity of my business. It was not what I wanted to hear, but it inspired confidence in Phil's integrity and professionalism.

Once the naming project commenced, Phil put on display his talents for both the art and science of identity branding. The concepts he presented were not only linguistically creative and appealing, but focused on the most important aspect of naming a business -- getting customers.

And let's not overlook Phil's great sense of humor, which livened each conversation with fun and laughs.

I highly recommend Tungsten Branding."
